Conna community council’s 60th annual flower, horticulture, cookery & craft show. Conna Community Council are extremely proud to present the 60th Anniversary Show on Sunday, 22nd September, 2019 in Conna’s Community Hall and Sports Complex. Admission is free and the show is open to the public from 3pm till 6pm. The inaugural show was held in 1960 and has been an annual fixture ever since, with thousands of people both exhibiting and enjoying the vast array of produce on display. The first show in 1960 was open to the public at 6pm and the admission charge was one shilling for adults and six pence for children. Later the admission fee was dropped and a Monster Raffle took its place with terrific prizes to be won. The 60th Anniversary is being celebrated with a special show book including some history surrounding the event as well as extra classes being added and great prizes for the winners. There’s something for everyone. Why not enter a class and support your local show? You might even be a prizewinner! The show will also play host to various stalls with everything from baking and woodturning to baby gifts and trendy haircuts. Linda and Blackwater Gin will be raising money for great causes and Conna Youth Club will be pouring cups of tea and serving up cakes. There will be displays by Conna Arts & Crafts and Conna Camera Club to enjoy. Michelle from VIP Fitness will be there along with face painting from FabFaces by Terri for the kids and don’t forget that Monster Raffle! All in all, a great afternoon out for all the family. Conna Horticulture Show, Conna Flower Club and Conna Community Council would like to thank most sincerely their many sponsors and supporters. Details for submissions can be found in the Show Booklet at http://conna.muintir.ie/links/horticulture-show-book-2019/
