Nestled among the lush greenery of Fota Island, Fota House Arboretum and Gardens stands on what was once the 800 acre estate of the Smith Barry family.

The old billiard room is home to 'Bakestone at Fota House' an airy café located in the old Billiard Room. Delicious morning treats and freshly prepared lunch offerings are available there.

The house can be booked for a variety of Events, Civil Weddings and Wedding Photograph sessions are very popular here. Easter, Halloween and Christmas events are ever popular as well as a range of summer outdoor theatre and musical evenings.

The house is open to visitors and two fascinating guided tours are provided daily from March until October. Fota House is managed by the Irish Heritage Trust.

The surrounding Arboretum & Gardens are cared for by the OPW (Office of Public Works) and can be explored free of charge (OPW contact details below).
