Nestled among the lush greenery of Fota Island, Fota House Arboretum and Gardens stands on what was once the 800 acre estate of the Smith Barry family.
The old billiard room is home to 'Bakestone at Fota House' a delightfully airy café serving delicious morning treats and freshly prepared lunch offerings. The house can be booked for events and Civil Weddings and Wedding Photograph sessions are very popular here. Easter, Halloween and Christmas events are ever popular as a range of summer outdoor theatre and musical evenings.
The house is open to visitors and four fascinating guided tours are provided daily from March until October.
The surrounding Arboretum & Gardens are cared for by the OPW (Office of Public Works) and can be explored free of charge (OPW contact details below).
Tours are provided but must be pre booked.
