A gorgeous golden off-the-beaten-track beach in a remote area of west Cork, Galleycove about a mile (1.5km) from the little village of Crookhaven on the Mizen Head Peninsula.

Backed by a rolling hill, the beach is east-facing which is sheltered from the prevailing south-westerly wind that blows in off the Wild Atlantic.

You'll find picnic tables on higher ground behind the beach which offers a beautiful view.
