With a Sam Maguire Passport in your hand (available in Dunmanway for just €2 or free in any Cork County Council Library), you can go on the Sam Maguire Passport Trail to find out about the man behind the famous All-Ireland Senior Men's Gaelic Football trophy.
There are seven stops along the trail, including his homestead, school, statue and church. In each place there are puzzles and challenges to solve, before stamping your passport and moving on to the next location.
The trail takes about 2-3 hours and entry to all the locations is FREE ! (although donations are welcome !!)
The trail can be done at any time of the year, but best done in July and August when the locations are open. If a location is closed, the information to answer the questions in the passport will be available outside the venue and a full set of stamps are available in St. Mary's Church and at Dunmanway Swimming Pool.
We hope you have an enjoyable day out in Dunmanway as you discover the story of the man behind the cup.
