The Lavit Gallery, Cork's longest established gallery, is a non-profit organisation which is dedicated to promoting the work of local and national artists and craftspeople.
The gallery is due to celebrate it's 50th anniversary in 2013, and has over the years held major exhibitions by artists such as John Behan, James English, Tim Goulding, Arthur Maderson, James McCarthy, Cormac O' Leary and Victor Richardson to name but a few.
There is always plenty to see in our 800 square feet of exhibition space which spans two floors.
We have a huge variety of work in stock including works by artists such as Patrick Cashin, Tom Climent, Mark Eldred,David Jenkins, Shane Johnson, Dee Pieters and Brian Smyth. Craft also features strongly with ceramics, glass, wood and textiles on show ensuring lots of creative and unique present ideas.
A highlight of the Lavit Gallery's programme is it's annual CASe exhibition where some of the most sought after names in Irish art are invited to exhibit. The Lavit is also committed to promoting younger and emerging artists in the form of the The Student of the Year Award which it presents each year to a graduate who shows promise and potential. Past recipients of this award have included - John Burke, Eilis O' Connell, Vivienne Roche, Maud Cotter and Bridget Flannery to name but a few.
