Cork Folk Festival presents John Neville & Martin Leahy

John Neville is a singer songwriter from Cork city. He played and recorded two albums with the excellent traditional Irish music band North Cregg of which he was a founding member. He released his debut solo album ‘Dance With The Wind’ in 2017 to critical acclaim. Songs from that album received nationwide airplay including RTE Radio1 programs such as Lillian Smith’s Rising Time, The John Creedon Show and Niall Toner’s Roots Freeway. One of his songs also featured in a New York Times article by acclaimed writer Jennifer Finney Boylan.

His latest album is Sun Valley Drive, it includes the singles Cold Wind Blowing and the much loved Old Honey Bee, which made the RTÉ Radio 1 Recommended Playlist. He plays this concert with his North Cregg colleague Martin Leahy who recorded and produced both his solo albums.

Martin Leahy has been working as a musician in Ireland for the last 27 years. He has worked with some of Ireland's greatest songwriters and played in many bands. Recently, Martin has been releasing his own solo music as a singer/songwriter. In the last 16 months he has come to national attention as a result of releasing his song ‘Everyone Should Have A Home’ and his ongoing one-person protest outside Dáil Éireann every Thursday to highlight the current housing crisis in Ireland.
