The Fastnet Film Festival now in its 13th year is set in the beautiful seaside village of Schull in West Cork. For five days at the end of May each year, Schull and some of the surrounding islands become one big cinema house. FFF is a major showcase for Irish and International short film production, focusing on the craft of film. It has been held in high regard on a local, national and international level for over a decade.

Each year the Festival runs a series of Seminars, Masterclasses and Workshops covering all aspects of filmmaking. The line-up includes 50-70 expert guests taking part, in excess of 400 screenings from 30+ countries, Local Interest Films and a World Cinema Programme. Fringe events include the Long Island Cinema, Filmmakers Hub, CornerTalk, Live music, Drama, Movie Quiz, Café viewing all over town and more.

Alongside the screening of hundreds of short film programmes, we provide high quality family entertainment that includes Puppet Making, Batik, Film Animation Workshops, Storytelling, Drama Workshops, Cinema Club and arts & crafts all free. Enjoy live music at Grove House, the Carlton and the Curzon. Experience Island feature screenings at the Blue Gallery, or a Café Viewing experience at one of the many restaurants and pubs in Schull.
