Mallow, the ‘Crossroads of Munster’, is a town rich in history. An important spa town in the 18th and 19th centuries visitors can still view the old Spa House and other historical buildings such as the old Mallow Castle at the centre of the town on the banks of the Blackwater. Today Mallow is a highly attractive town that has retained much of its character.

The town is steeped in the traditions of horse racing in Ireland. The first Steeplechase ever was run locally between nearby Buttevant and Doneraile over 250 years ago and now Mallow Racecourse continues the traditions with regular meets.

Cycling, golfing, walking, angling, horse riding, fishing, and watersports can all be enjoyed in the beautiful countryside around Mallow.
