Your first question may be why is it so Roundy? Because the walls were once those of the (English) Queen's Castle that appears on the Cork coat of arms. Downstairs its modern decor attracts early morning coffee drinkers, its lunchtime toasted special is best consumed outside watching the city go by and the delicious wine list always comes in handy on late afternoons. BUT the real jewel in this former bastion of royalty is the weekly spread of live music gigs upstairs with anything from low-key singer-songwriters to frenetic jazz bands from Sunday to Friday with house DJs on Saturday nights.
