Kalbo’s Café is a lively café situated on North St. Skibbereen, West Cork. Siobhan and Anthony have been at the helm for 12 years where Siobhan is chef making the most of the wealth of the very best of fresh and artisan west Cork produce.

In the daytime, Kalbo’s hops with a busy clientele. Lunch is a relaxed affair, with a menu consisting of gourmet sandwiches like Irish Steak with Caramelised Red Onion, rocket and horseradish mayo or Crispy Gubbeen Smoked Bacon with West Cork Cheddar, Onion Relish and Semi Sundried Tomatoes, both served on ciabatta.

Soup is always on the menu, and could include Anthony’s Courgette or wonderfully heady Pumpkin depending on season. More substantial dishes include Warm Ardsallagh Goat’s Cheese with toasted pecans, dried cranberries and mixed leaves, or a Penne with Irish Chicken and Spinach in Tomato and Basil sauce. Afternoon Tea here is a delight – with a choice of homebaked cakes, brownies and desserts, on display in the cabinet at the counter, and crooking a beckoning finger of temptation.
