Costigan's is a traditional Irish pub nestled in the heart of Washington Street, Cork City. Proudly occupying the #1 spot on TripAdvisor for Nightlife in Cork and we believe our warm, welcoming staff and our authentic pub feel have a lot to do with our success, as one of Cork's oldest pubs (established in 1849) this comes naturally to us!
Although located in the thriving Cork city centre, Costigan's is an escape from the hustle and bustle of city centre trade during the day. It provides a traditional Irish country style atmosphere where you can really appreciate the iconic homely décor with a toasty and a coffee or even a pint. We have recently undertaken some renovations from our underseat lighting to the addition of a second snug, Costigan’s oozes comfort and homely vibes. Our parlour and the iconic Granny’s Room have been completely transformed. You simply must check out our new kitchen front in the parlour – words can’t quite capture the sheer beauty, pristine finish and novelty furnishings it boasts.
Our walls are laden with vintage memorabilia, we almost ran out of space to hang things! Here’s a challenge, swing by and see if you can spot where we keep our cornflakes!
Our long bar counter, multiple cosy snugs and a spacious parlour makes Costigans ideal for parties; not to mention our open fire and iconic beer garden. Costigan's Pub is the perfect setting to enjoy a drink or two. Our stunning individual architecture stems from the heritage of the building. Our building originally operated as a fish mongers, then became a coach house and years later a sweet shop until it finally blossomed into the charming Costigans Pub that it is today.
By evening Costigan's transforms from the energy of our customers. We adapt to an authentic Irish local full of laughter and fun! If its music you're after, Costigan's plays host to an array of local musicians playing live Monday through Thursday during the summer months we’ve got everything from traditional Irish tunes to current pop numbers.
