Cork Pride has been running for over 30 years and has grown
from a modest affair into a week-long celebration. This year’s theme is Unity In
The Community’ and there’s something for everybody – from cycling, fun runs and
rugby to lectures, great gigs and lots of pride-filled partying!
Some of the highlights include a Pride Tag Tournament hosted by Cork Hellhounds RFC at Virgin Media Park (Musgrave Park) and a Pride Run on Sunday 28 July at
Kennedy Park.
For cycling enthusiasts there’s a 21km Queer Bike Ride on the Blackrock-Passage
West Greenway. The Ringmasters Drag Race will be hosted by Paul Ryder at Crane
Lane Theatre.
There'll be QueerVibes Bingo at The Gay Project on Sawmill Street and Gaze Film Night at The
Pav which also hosts The Big Queer Debs on Friday 2 August.
The jewel in the crown of Cork Pride is the Pride Parade and hugely popular Party
At The Port which takes place on Sunday 4 August. This year acts include Cork’s
own Eurovision hero Bambi Thug along with super-popular cover band J90, DJ Ruth, a Cher tribute act and a Lady Gaga tribute act.
If you miss the performance you can also catch Bambi Thug with Charity Kase at
the MockieAh! Pride Party at The Pav on Carey’s Lane that night.
