Since 2009, European Best Destinations has promoted the best visitor destinations in Europe to millions of tourists, media and tourism professionals on the most visited European website dedicated to tourism, in partnership with more than 300 European Tourism Offices and the EDEN network created and funded by the European Commission.
In February 2020, Cork was chosen by thousands of travellers around the globe as their favourite European Destination. Eventually finishing in 13th place overall (including being the most popular choice with voters from Australia, Scotland and 3rd most popular destination with Asian voters).
As a result of being voted in the top 15 Cork will be promoted throughout the whole of 2020 as being among the best places to visit in the EU to an audience of over 6 million tourists, international media (Lonely Planet, Condé Nast, Vogue, Forbes etc) and tourism professionals.
