An Spailpín Fanach (The Migrant Worker) was founded in 1779 across the street from the now defunct Beamish & Crawford Brewery (the stout is now brewed on Leitrim Street).

It is a traditional Irish bar offering live music every night and is "a lovely soothing place with low ceilings, exposed brick walls, flagstone floors, fireplaces, a simple wooden bar and woven rush seats. (Quote from Frommers Ireland 2009). Its cosy, lively atmosphere makes it popular with tourists and locals alike. Upstairs function room caters for about 180 people.

Traditional foods such as Irish stew, bacon and cabbage, among lots of other dishes served 12.00pm – 3.00pm.
