St. Patrick's Day Parades 2024

St. Patrick’s Day is one of the best times of the year to visit Cork. The big highlight is the huge parade in Cork city centre that starts at 1pm. Expect to see a vibrant and colourful display with people all walks of life across the city – from sporting groups to dance schools, new communities, our long-established brass bands, and special guests from around the world.

Many towns and villages around the county also have their own parades (see list below).

If you want a good viewing position at the city parade you’ll need to be there about an hour beforehand as crowds can be 5 or 6 people deep in places.




The city parade starts at Parnell Bridge then circles around the city centre island by heading up South Mall, on to Grand Parade, north along St. Patrick Street and east on to Merchant’s Quay finishing at Parnell Place. For more info click here

Be sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast and the Met Éireann rain radar. March in Ireland can go from sunshine to rain showers in a matter of minutes so be prepared for all conditions!
