Join curator and art historian Dr Michael Waldron on a journey through historic views of Cork from the Crawford Art Gallery collection, including John Butts' View of Cork from Audley Place (c.1750), Nathaniel Grogan's Whipping the Herring out of Town (c.1800), James Beale's Skellig Night on South Mall (1845), Patrick Hennessy's Cork's Northside (c.1960), and Eileen Healy's The Glen (1999). Dr Michael Waldron is Assistant Curator of Collections at Crawford Art Gallery. He has previously worked on the Deep Maps: West Cork Coastal Cultures project and taught art history and literature at UCC. He is also co-curator of the exhibitions Samuel Forde: Visions of Tragedy (2014), The Crawford at the Castle (2016), Dreaming in Blue: Harry Clarke Watercolours (2018), and The Gibson Bequest 1919-2019, and curator of Recasting Canova.
