FREE ENTRY The Skallions are an 8 piece Ska Reggae powerhouse based in Belfast, bringing bags of energy and stacks of attitude. The Skallions are as fresh as they come, bursting onto the Belfast music scene in late 2017, they have wasted no time sprouting and unleashing their unique brand of perfectly balanced fun and mayhem. In the last year incredible opportunities have allowed The Skallions to rub shoulders with some of the giants of the Ska Reggae scene, such as their first gig opening for New Yorks finest The Slackers, and going on to provide support for Jaya The Cat and later adding David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan, one of the most respected and longest running Reggae and Roots DJs, who would later go on to feature them on his BBC radio 1 xtra show. When The Beat ft. Dave Wakeling came to town, the Skallions Jumped at the offer for a support slot that was too good to miss. Later in 2018 The Slackers Rolled into ireland and an oppurtunity arose for both support slots in Dublin and Belfast on consectutive nights, seeing the Skallions play first Dublin gig which went down a storm with fans new and old. Fans of Punk, Ska, Rock and Reggae will not be disappointed with their high octane sound and all out show stopping atmosphere. The influence of bands like Bad Manners, The Specials, The Selecter and Toots and the Maytals are easily interpreted as these Ska-hallions provide blistering originals with hard rocking drums intertwined with pumping bass lines, tasty melodic keys to move your feet, heavy guitar riffs designed to have any crowd bouncing from start to finish, a brass section set to blow all the houses down and dual Male and Female vocals that both shock and delight any avid listener. The Skallions are well known for their non-stop all out energetic live shows which put an instant party on the cards, expect nothing less from these mad capped moon stompin’ miscreants and get your knees up and skank like a Skallion! The Empire Music Hall Belfast “Belfast’s finest ska reggae fusion outfit, THE SKALLIONS (think ska-hallions more than spring onions). Covers, classics and new material all combine into a heady stew of good times and dancing feet from the energetic dancing machine.” Cathedral Qaurter Arts Festival “The most talked about band in recent months” Sunflowerfest 2018 “Belfast Ska outfit The Skallions are putting on some of the most enegretic live gigs in Belfast right now.”
