Mónica Muñoz Marín is a dance artist based in Dublin. She graduated from the Folwang University of the Arts in Essen and completed her MA in Contemporary Dance Education at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She was a long-standing member of Stadtstheater Heidelberg and the Tanztheater Freiburg in Germany.
As a freelance performer she has worked extensively throughout Europe for over 20 years. She was a recipient of the mentored Resicency Award (2016) from Dance Ireland and the Docklands Arts Fund from Business to Arts (2018).
Her work has been presented at the Dublin Dance Festival, Dance Limerick, Firkin Crane, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Werkraum Theater Heidelberg and has toured nationally.
Along with her choreographic practice Monica teaches dance in community and educational settings.
Princesses can be Pirates is supported by a Tour and Dissemination Grant from the Arts Council. It will tour nationally to 11 venues across the country.
