Stayin' Down Shoes -Sara Corkery, Brendan Butler & Siona

Singer Sara Corkery, as a young girl, became greatly interested in the fingerstyle playing of Doc Watson and the mandolin tunes of Bill Monroe. She was a member of the Cork based female vocal quintet, The Joyful Mysteries in the 90’s and released an album Don’t mind the Rain in 2009 with Áine Whelan. Brendan Butler has been on the folk and bluegrass music scene here for over 20 years. He is best known for his work with the Lee Valley String Band. He has been playing mandolin and singing high and lonesome with those boys, since he returned to Ireland from Kentucky in 1994. Brendan teams up with Sara and Siona Knepper on bass in this new group Stayin’ Down Shoes.
