Cork’s own mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan stars in Irish National Opera’s concert performance of Vivaldi’s opera Bajazet at Saint Fin Barre’s Cathedral Cork at 5pm on 20 January 2022.
Join us for this wonderful evening of Italian baroque opera. The Vivaldi score is filled with exciting, rapid, rhythmical melodies synonymous with the baroque style. An unforgettable evening awaits as the show-stopping arias make Vivaldi’s Bajazet a white-knuckle emotional ride. ?
This concert is conducted by early music specialist?Peter Whelan and features the acclaimed Irish Baroque Orchestra. Italian bass-baritone Gianluca Margheri?sings?the title role, with mezzo-soprano Niamh O’Sullivan?as Asteria. Sopranos?Claire Booth?and Aoife Miskelly perform as Irene and Idaspe,?with countertenors?James Laing and Eric Jurenas?as Tamerlano and?Andronico.
